You’re gonna love this surprising twist on a classic margarita! How do you man up a margarita? Add beer of course! Guys and gals alike will go nuts for this crowd pleasing drink. It’s refreshing, delicious, and not too sweet. The salted rim is an absolute MUST! It totally brings everything together. And it’s here just in time for Cinco de Mayo! But why stop at that fiesta? This amazingly easy cocktail is the perfect drink to quench your thirst on hot summer days. In fact I think Beer Margaritas need to be the official drink of Summer this year! Pair it with our Quick and Easy Loaded Totchos and let’s get this party started!!!
Here’s all you’ll need: lime slices, kosher or margarita salt, beer, frozen limeade, tequila, sweet and sour mix, and ice.
First we need to salt that glass! I’m usually more of a sweet girl and lean towards sugar rimmed cocktails but this recipe has totally converted me. Rub the outside of a glass with a fresh lime.
Sprinkle some margarita salt onto a plate or bowl. Kosher salt will work too if you don’t have margarita salt available. Firmly press the upside down glass into the salt. Roll it around. Sprinkle it to fill in the gaps. Whatever works! You can even prep the glasses ahead of time. Discard any remaining salt.
Next add the thawed limeade to a large pitcher. We’re swapping out the more traditional lime juice for this limeade shortcut. We’re fans of easy in this house! The limeade doesn’t need to be completely thawed. Just enough so you can get it out of the can.
Pour in the sweet and sour mix, the tequila and of course the beer! We used Coronas, a summertime favorite, which blended wonderfully with this recipe. And Jose Cuervo cause it’s our favorite kind of tequila! One sip of this tasty drink and you’re going to be so happy that you have a whole pitcher ready to go!
Now very gently stir. We don’t want to ruin any of that fantastic carbonation from the beer! Yum!!!! Drooling a little already!!
Serve over ice in salt rimmed glasses! Garnish with a slice of lime if you really wanna get fancy! Cause you know I do. Sip. Relax. Repeat!
