Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is THE restaurant that you don’t wanna miss at Universal. The theming is fantastic, the food is amazing, the dessert menu is unbelievable, and the gift shop is just out of this world!!! This enchanting eatery is bedazzled with steampunk flair and sure to grab your attention. It’s towering smokestacks, fancy gizmos and gears make it visible from across the waterway. Located in Citywalk, directly next to the entrance of Islands of Adventure, there’s no way to enter the theme parks without catching a glimpse of Universal’s most visually stunning restaurant. Be sure to come hungry!! This is the BEST place to splurge! Thank goodness for all those miles we racked up in the park. The menu is HUGE and insanely drool-worthy! We’ve narrowed down our top ten favorite food and drinks (in no particular order).

#1.)Warm Chocolate Almond Bread 

You absolutely must start your meal with this warm and delicious chocolatey bread! This hot out of the oven temptation is like nothing you’ve ever tasted. Light and fluffy, with a mild chocolate flavor, this bread is served with salted caramel butter. It’s one app that the whole family can agree on! Don’t hold back on the caramel butter!!

#2.) The Blue Plate Burger 

This over the top burger starts with a half pound housemate patty on a toasted brioche bun, then tops it with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled meatloaf, Wisconsin cheddar, sweet corn, and Bordelaise sauce. This crazy spin on the traditional “meat and potatoes” classic is the manliest thing you could possibly order! My brother devoured this burger but not before I was able to steal a bite! Make sure you upgrade to the truffle fries!!! Our whole table did and no regrets!!

#3.) The Croque Monsieur 

This French favorite gets a serious upgrade from the Parmesan crusted French bread! A knock your socks off sandwich loaded with sweet country ham, melty gruyere cheese, and topped with Bechamel sauce to bring it all home. Seriously mind-blowing!! I’ve been trying to recreate this little gem at home ever since. My sister in law was completely enamored with her choice. I’m pretty sure we’ll both be forever dreaming about this one!

#4.) The Red Reuben

Reuben lover’s will want to take note of this one! My hubby declared it was the best Reuben he’s ever eaten (and he does A LOT of eating so rest assured he can stand behind his words). Served on grilled artisan rye, this hearty sandwich is piled high with Boar’s Head Corned Beef, thick Alphine Lace Swiss Cheese, colorful Braised Red Cabbage, all doused in 1000 Island Dressing. It’s perfectly ok to drool!

#5.) Southern Fried Chicken BLT

If you haven’t caught on yet, the portions at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium are massive!! And the Southern Fried Chicken BLT is no exception. This ginormous sandwich housed an appetite quenching portion of Crispy Boneless Chicken Breast, perched atop of a bed of fresh tomatoes and butter Bibb lettuce, then finished with a crown of Bacon and Dijon Mustard all somehow stuffed inside this toasted brioche bun. For real, how did you get all this stuff to fit?!? The breading on the chicken was to die for!! This is truly down home country cooking at it’s finest!

#6.) Canadian Club Bird Dog Chocolate

Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium is best known for their over the top, jaw-dropping milkshakes. But we found another spectacular dessert you can drink on the menu….chocolate whiskey!!! Whiskey fanatics and chocolate lovers alike will appreciate this one. Sip it slowly. You’re gonna wanna savor that taste!! The waiter suggested this one for my hubby, but I should have ordered one for myself as well. I’ve never tasted anything like it and I mean that in the best way possible! This drink proves there really IS something for everyone on the dessert menu.

#7.) Chocolate Brownie Bark Sundae

My nephew Nathan was in his glory when they brought this sucker out! The dish was overflowing with chocolate ice cream, chocolate brownies, chocolate fresh whipped cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate brownie bark, and chocolate sprinkles. Talk about chocolate overload!!! We all wanted to dive right into this mountain of chocolatey goodness. You only live once! Order the Chocolate Brownie Bark Sundae!!! Oh and it’s under $10……mic dropped.

#8.) The Milkshakes!!! 

These extraordinary milkshakes should be on your bucket list. We couldn’t decide on one so we ordered four! Pictured left to right we have the Confetti, the Peanut Butter & Jelly, the Red Velvet, and the Marshmallow Crisp milkshakes. I’ve tried so hard to nail down my favorite but it just can’t be done! This is the reason people come to Toothsome’s! These outrageous milkshakes are SO extra but SO worth it!!! Try one or try ’em all. I’m not judging. Pro tip: You can order them to go at the dessert counter OUTSIDE the restaurant.

#9.) Macarons

Located just outside the restaurant you’ll find the most extravagant selection of sweet treats to grab for the road! They carry everything from designer chocolates, to fancy desserts, to one of a kind candy that you can only find at Toothsome’s. I made a beeline for the macaron counter and picked out a handful of these lovely, little French almond meringue cookies! The Neapolitan (shown below), the Birthday Cake and the Tiramisu were our favorites. Introducing macarons to my princess of a niece Ellie was priceless. Totally worth the splurge!

#10.) Artisan Chocolates

If you’re looking for a special gift or souvenir to take home, this is it!!! Load up a custom box of these magnificent, beautifully hand-crafted artisanal chocolates. The combinations are endless. It was almost impossible to choose. I will say this….make sure you snag a peanut butter and jelly! I instantly regretted not getting a bigger box size!!

Another regret was not ordering anything from this dessert case! Next time guys!!! I PROMISE!!!!! I literally had to force myself away from this selection of cakes and cupcakes.
